The Feast of Pentecost and Covid-19

Today by God’s grace, the Church is experiencing a new kind of fear and lockdown. The Coronavirus has spread its fear over the entire world. Again, we have an opportunity on this the Feast of Pentecost to relive in a particular manner the foundational event of Pentecost. This is an opportune and sacred time of grace to deepen our faith in the wonders, graces, and mercies of Jesus Christ. Jesus is again visiting our hearts and our homes – the Domestic Church according to Saint John Paul II – to bring forgiveness, compassion, tolerance, and peace into our families, as we now have a golden opportunity to increase our pray time as a family. The event of Pentecost is repeating itself in a manner that provides new divine miracles from Jesus. We are being spiritually and divinely fed by the Holy Spirit in our homes. This allows us to ready to bravely face the challenges of our Church and the world after the passage of this virus. May Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, Lily of the Mohawks, intercede for us through Jesus. It is only in Jesus, we can bravely overcome the New Normal with a renewal of our faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
